Day 75: Let’s see if this will fix it…

I dropped off my car this morning and picked up a loaner car. It’s a Audi A4 Prestige with a Bang & Olufsen sound system. Sometimes I wonder if I should have at least gotten the Premium Plus instead of the Premium model. I wouldn’t have got the B&O sound system, but there are still a few other neat options on that model. Anyway, that’s another story.

So later in the day, I got an email from the General Manager asking if they could keep the car overnight as they wait for a decision from Audi. I was fine with that. Then I got another email from Service Guy Graham to let me know that they’re sending the car back to Queen City Autos to try another ‘Audi approved’ fix. Apparently, they’re going to apply some type of chemical treatment that will open the ‘pores’ of the clear coat and remove the marks. And then they want to keep the car for 2 days to make sure that the problem is actually fixed. I wonder why no one came up with this option before.

I also sent a mail to Graham to remind him that there are two problems that need to be solved (a) the water spots all over the car and (b) the weird clouding on both sides of the car (below):

I wish they’d just replace the car and spend all the time they want on trying to resolve this issue – without my involvement. But I guess that would be too simple a solution. Let’s see what happens….

Day 74: Can you drop your car off tomorrow?

Got a call and email from the General Manager asking me to drop off my car tomorrow. Their Audi of America rep will be there tomorrow and they’d like to be able to review the car with him.

Day 71: Next Week Is “Resolution Week”

When I met with the General Manager on 6/26, she’d comitted that I’d have a resolution on the week of 7/13 i.e. the week we’re supposed to meet with the Audi of America rep. So ‘resolution week’ is just a few days away.  I was told that I’d hear from Barrier Audi on 7/13 as to what day next week we can have this meeting. I’m waiting with a bated breath.
